FUND RAISING ACTIVITIES
Hospice Huronia is funded only in part by the Ministry of Health
and Long Term Care. The majority of our services are supported by
donations and fund raising events. There is no charge for any of
the services we provide. Our volunteers donate both their time and
traveling expense to provide support to our clients and their families.
To
Donate
Those wishing to express their thanks to Hospice Huronia may do
so through individual donations by cheque made payable to Hospice
Huronia, 25 Jeffery St., Penetanguishene, ON L9M 1K6. Charitable
registration # 899915243.
To supplement government funding, Hospice Huronia conducts several
annual fund raising activities and relies on volunteer help and
support to ensure they are successful. You may become involved in
any or all of our fund raising activities by contacting us by phone,

Hike
for Hospice
The annual Hike for Hospice is held on the first Sunday each May.
Our hike is part of a national event sponsored by the Canadian
Hospice Palliative Care Association and the GlaxoSmithKline Foundation.
Thousands of Canadians representing over 100 hike sites in the country
will be walking to support and promote hospice palliative care programs.
This
event is unique because 100% of the funds remain in our community
and support Hospice Huronia. If you wish to be involved as a walker,
to make a pledge or to assist with registration please contact us
by phone, fax or email.

Trees of Remembrance
Each year Hospice Huronia helps people cope with their grief by
lighting special bulbs, which are placed on live trees in our communities in memory of loved ones who have died. Light bulbs can be purchased
for $2.00 each from mid-November until the end of December, since
for many people the holiday season can be filled with loneliness
remembering loved ones who can no longer share happy times. The
name of loved ones are attached to each light bulb and then placed
on trees near the fire station in Midland.
Bingo Events
Hospice Huronia is a member of the Angel Gate Bingo Association
and manages two bingo events in the afternoons of the second
and fourth Wednesday of every month. Proceeds from the bingo events help to support
the programs and expenses of Hospice Huronia. Volunteers are always
needed to ensure the bingo events are well managed. If you wish
to assist, please contact us by phone, fax or email.
Nevada Locations
Hospice Huronia is fortunate to have two locations which sell
break-open Nevada tickets in support of our programs. Special thanks
is extended to Paul's NOCO Station in Midland, and Sunny's Convenience in Victoria Harbour for hosting the Nevada
tickets so Hospice Huronia can continue to provide services at no
charge to our clients.
